KATIE ANVIL RICH
About
Acting
With over a decade of experience performing throughout the U.S. and internationally, I've created a career in the theatre defined by critically acclaimed new works penned by cutting edge and established playwrights, on a foundation of classical training. I've narrated dozens of audiobooks for major publishers, always drawn to YA stories (both in my own personal reading and in my work!). I'm an alum of the Walt Disney Discovers Talent Showcase, The Guthrie Experience, a member of the Native Voices Actor Ensemble, OSF Performing Company, have performed in rotating repertory and have my MFA in Acting from Harvard University & The Moscow Art Theatre School.
Behind the Scenes
For over five years as Literary Manager at Native Voices, America's only Equity Theater dedicated to the development of new plays by American Indian, First Nations, Native Hawaiian & Alaska Native playwrights, I supported the development of over 100 new plays by Indigenous writers, seeing many from workshop to production. I've directed & stage managed readings, workshops, tours, and productions at Native Voices, Harvard University, CalState LA, CalPoly: Pomona, San Diego State University, and the Hollywood Fringe Festival, among others. Most of my writing is television and feature scripts where I work out whatever I'm going through in my own life through heightened weirdness that I'd like to watch unfold. I have written and devised a number of new plays and theatrical experiences produced throughout the country. I was a Disney Entertainment Writing Program Finalist and Harvardwood Television Writers' Program Director.

I teach Voice & Speech, Acting and Writing/New Play Development to all ages and experience levels. Selected teaching gigs include classes at Harvard University, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Victory Afghanistan, Los Angeles Unified, CalState LA, San Diego State University, CalPoly: Pomona, Haus of Improv, and The Nerdist School.
Misc.
I'm a descendant of the Chickasaw and Cherokee Nations and I'm incredibly grateful to get to contribute to our community's increasing prominence in theatre, television, film & literature.
I'm an INFJ, and if you know any INFJs (and maybe you don't, because we are the rarest personality type - brag), you'll know that this is says a lot.
I love a TV series rewatch, a challenge, and a labradoodle.
